Goal Challenge Series

Starting Monday, October 13, with several parts to keep you honest and to meet your goals.

This fall, we've gone outside of the traditional CrossFit "Paleo Challenge," and created a series for members of Amplify that will allow them to really get in touch with what is most important to them when it comes to their nutrition.

When we get clarity on what is most important to us, what we value in terms of our health, we can get focused on what we need to do to achieve those goals.

Our job as coaches will be to guide you through the process of not only setting your goals, but understanding what is necessary to achieve them and hopefully giving you the tools to keep you on the right path. The Series will be a 2 week "on," 2 week "off" process.

Series #1 October 13th - October 27th Series #2 November 10th - November 24th Series #3 December 8th - December 22nd

Make sure you fill out a goal sheet (Download HERE) and email it to us amplifynutrtion@gmail.com.  This is a requirement of participation and eligibility to win.

Entry is $30 per team.

See more details in the Amplify Nutrition Forum on Facebook.  Find Craig M. or Lauren B. and ask to be added to the Forum group and to get set up.

Amplify classes are cancelled on Saturday with the Power Athlete competition. Events run from 8am - 4pm.  See below for more info.

June 15, 2013

CrossFit Amplify and CrossFit of Naperville will be co-hosting the CrossFit Football's Power Athlete Team Series.

An extension of the worldwide success, #OccupyStrength, the Power Athlete Team Series is where trash talking meets performance in the ultimate team challenge. The question is, where will you and your training partners rank among the strongest and fastest Power Athletes in the CrossFit Football nation?

Assemble your army of 4 people, men and/or women, and prepare to do work. Each individual will be required to do one of the CFFB Total lifts (Power clean, Squat, Bench, Deadlift) as well as a corresponding metcon testing the athlete’s power, speed, and agility. Just as sport allows teams to “stack the deck” placing adept players in key positions, the Power Athlete Team Series emphasizes displaying the same soul crushing dominance in his/her wheelhouse. The competition will culminate in a head to head team prowler event for the top three teams.

This event is an excellent forum for novice and veteran Power Athletes alike to gain experience competing and pushing beyond their perceived athletic potential. Each person will have the opportunity to showcase their talents as well as thrive within a team dynamic to prove that just as iron sharpens iron, so does one athlete sharpen another.

Does your team have what it takes?

Registration is here: http://powerathletehq.com/power-athlete-team-series/event-locations Facebook Event page with updates is here: http://www.facebook.com/events/475859375802795/?fref=ts

Out With the Grains, In With the Greens

no-bread.jpg

HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO BEGIN MAKING SOME DIET CHANGES THAT CAN HELP YOU LOOK AND FEEL YOUR BEST, JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER!

OUT WITH THE GRAINS, IN WITH THE GREENS $10 for Amplify members

DETAILS – It’s simple. • 26 day challenge, May 6-May 31 • Only rule – Eliminate grains from your diet for 26 days and ADD IN more vegetables.

WHAT CAN I EAT? • Whatever you want. You don’t need to make any other diet changes besides following the only rule of the challenge. For best results, the recommended diet consists of eating quality meats, eggs, fish, fruits, vegetables, with some nuts & seeds. • No requirement for food logs.

WHY DO IT? If you’ve been at CrossFit for a while… • You’ve thought about making a diet change for yourself, but you’re not sure where to begin… or you’ve seen the awesome results from Amplify members who participated in the past Paleo Challenges but don’t want to commit to “full paleo” yet. • Maybe you’ve read some research on how eating clean can reduce inflammation, control your insulin levels, help you attain a healthy weight, boost your performance in the gym, and improve your overall health. • Perhaps you want to get your diet back on track and committing to a “challenge” will help you do it. If you’re new to CrossFit… • You’ve heard about “paleo” but you’re not quite sure what it’s all about. • Maybe you’re learning all the lifts and pushing yourself in the WODs, wondering when you’re going to get stronger and faster. • Perhaps you are coming to the gym 3-4 times a week, but you’re still not reaching your weight-loss goals.

REQUIREMENTS: Weight must be taken on the scale at Amplify within two days of the start date and within two days of the end date. Yes, this is primarily a weight loss challenge… but with the benefits of improved health and feeling better too.

PRIZES: ONE WINNER– CASH PRIZE, based on percentage of weight-loss All participants will receive exclusive access to “Grain-Free Challenge” Facebook page to share tips, recipes, research and support.

Any questions, contact Amplify Nutrition Coach, Megan DeBora at megan.paleochallenge@gmail.com
